Yula Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Yula mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using Yula, the user agrees to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
Users must be legally permitted to use the Service in their jurisdiction. If the user is under the age of majority, use of the Service must be authorized by a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
2. User Accounts
Users may create an account using email/password or supported third-party sign-in providers. Users are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials;
- all activity occurring under their account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or platform policies.
3. Service Description
Yula provides journaling and optional AI-assisted dream comics and interpretations. Requested AI features require an explicit AI-processing choice and use Google Gemini through Yula's backend. Voice input uses the device's speech-recognition service; it may process audio locally or through the operating-system provider. A journal can be saved without requesting AI processing. Features may change over time, and some features may be limited by geography, device compatibility, subscription status, or service availability.
4. Acceptable Use
Users may not use the Service to:
- violate any law or regulation;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- upload or generate unlawful, abusive, exploitative, hateful, or sexually explicit content involving minors;
- interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the Service;
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, models, or data;
- scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse the Service beyond what is permitted by law.
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend accounts to enforce these rules.
5. User Content
Users retain rights they have in content they submit, subject to the rights necessary for us to operate the Service. By submitting content, users grant Yula a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, modify, and display that content solely for:
- providing the Service;
- generating outputs requested by the user;
- maintaining security and abuse prevention;
- maintaining the reliability of the requested features, subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy.
Users are responsible for ensuring they have the rights needed for any content they submit.
6. AI-Generated Output
AI-generated output may be imperfect, inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, or unavailable. Users are responsible for reviewing outputs before using, sharing, or relying on them. Yula does not guarantee uniqueness, accuracy, or fitness of generated content for any specific purpose.
7. Subscriptions and Billing
Some features may require a paid subscription. Pricing, billing period, trial offers, renewal terms, and cancellation terms will be shown at the point of purchase and governed by the relevant app marketplace terms.
The current monthly plan includes 10 dream credits per billing period, and the weekly plan includes 3. A three- or four-panel comic uses one credit; a six-panel comic uses two. Unused subscription credits expire at the end of their billing period. One free credit is available once per account; there is no standalone credit pack in the current offering. The purchase screen states the applicable price and allocation. RevenueCat manages subscription entitlements and credit records, and the backend validates available credits before generation. Purchases and renewals are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
Unless otherwise stated:
- subscriptions renew automatically until canceled;
- users can manage or cancel subscriptions through their Apple App Store or Google Play account settings;
- deleting the app or account does not cancel a subscription;
- fees are non-refundable except as required by law or platform policy.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including branding, software, design, text, graphics, and underlying technology, is owned by Yula or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service or our intellectual property to the user.
9. Privacy
Use of the Service is also governed by the Yula Privacy Policy, including provider processing, account-linked storage and retention limits. Sharing/exporting content may make copies or download links accessible to recipients.
10. Termination
Users may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately if necessary to protect the Service, other users, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.
Users can request account deletion in Settings -> Delete Account. A recent sign-in may be required. Active generation must stop before cleanup can finish; failures require a retry. Successful cleanup deletes Yula's account-linked Firebase records and uploaded files, subject to the provider, backup, security-record and purchase-record retention limitations in the Privacy Policy. It cannot recall exported/shared copies or cancel a store subscription.
Upon termination, some provisions of these Terms will continue to apply, including provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and disputes.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yula and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount paid by the user to Yula through the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $50 if no such payments were made.
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. Continued use after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Yula operates, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer law.
