Yula Privacy Policy
Yula ("Yula", "we", "our", or "us") helps users turn dream descriptions into AI-generated comic panels, interpretations, and journal entries. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to users.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, sign-in provider, profile photo, authentication identifiers, account creation date, and last login date.
- Profile and personalization information: birthdate, zodiac sign, gender, language, notification settings, and other preferences if provided.
- User content: dream descriptions, feelings or style selections, generated comic prompts, generated comic images, journal entries, saved comics, and feedback messages.
- Voice and transcription data: audio snippets or dictation content when the user chooses to speak a dream instead of typing it.
- Device and app information: app version, device type, operating system, language, push notification token, crash diagnostics, and analytics events related to app usage.
- Subscription and entitlement information: subscription tier, product identifier, entitlement status, billing period metadata, renewal state, purchase validation results, and usage limits. We do not collect or store full payment card details.
- Support and communications: support messages, bug reports, and optional diagnostics or attachments voluntarily shared by the user.
2. How We Use Information
- Create, authenticate, and manage user accounts.
- Generate dream interpretations, comic prompts, comic images, and related app experiences.
- Save, sync, and display comics, journal entries, profile details, and settings.
- Personalize the experience, such as optional zodiac-based context or language-specific output.
- Process voice dictation when the user chooses to use microphone or speech features.
- Provide support, notifications, reminders, product quality improvements, and abuse prevention.
- Administer subscriptions, validate purchases, restore purchases, and enforce plan limits.
- Comply with legal obligations and platform requirements.
3. AI Processing
When a user submits dream text, voice dictation, style selections, profile context, or related prompts, that content may be processed by third-party AI services used by Yula to generate text, transcriptions, images, or safety-related responses.
We use this processing to provide the requested app functionality, maintain reliability, support moderation and safety, and improve the quality of the service. Users should avoid submitting highly sensitive personal information in free-text or voice fields unless necessary.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Yula may offer paid auto-renewable subscriptions. Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, and subscription infrastructure providers such as Adapty. These providers may process purchase identifiers, storefront information, subscription status, renewal status, transaction identifiers, and entitlement data.
Yula does not receive or store full credit card numbers or payment card security codes. Users can manage or cancel subscriptions through their Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
- Performance of a contract, including providing the app, subscriptions, and requested features.
- User consent, such as for notifications, microphone access, speech input, or optional profile fields.
- Legitimate interests, including security, analytics, support, abuse prevention, and service improvement.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
- Cloud infrastructure, database, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, storage, app security, messaging, and notification providers.
- AI and transcription providers that help generate text, images, or speech-to-text output requested by the user.
- Subscription, purchase validation, entitlement management, and app marketplace providers.
- Customer support and error monitoring providers.
- Legal authorities or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, users, or the service.
These providers may process data on our behalf under contractual, technical, and operational safeguards.
7. Third-Party Services
Yula may use third-party services including Firebase and Google services for authentication, database, storage, analytics, crash reporting, app security, notifications, and AI features; OpenAI for selected transcription functionality; Adapty for subscription paywalls, purchase validation, and entitlement management; and Apple App Store or Google Play services for app distribution and in-app purchases.
Third-party services process information according to their own terms and privacy policies when they act as independent controllers or marketplace providers.
8. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, maintain security, and keep business records.
If a user deletes their account or requests deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, security, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
9. User Controls and Rights
- Depending on location, users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or portability.
- Users can delete their account from within the app when available or request account/data deletion through the account deletion page.
- Users can disable notifications in device or in-app settings.
- Users can manage microphone, speech recognition, and photo permissions in device settings.
- Users can contact us to request privacy assistance.
10. Children
Yula is not directed to children under the minimum age permitted by applicable law to use the service without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
11. International Transfers
Information may be processed and stored in countries other than the user's own. When required, we use reasonable safeguards for cross-border transfers.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice.
